Financial clarity for the people making the food.
Food Profit Lab builds practical, transparent financial tools for restaurants, bakeries, cafés, food trucks, caterers, pizza shops, and bars.
Why this exists
Food businesses make dozens of margin decisions while buying, prepping, baking, pouring, serving, and delivering. The math is often scattered across invoices, inventory sheets, recipes, and spreadsheets. Food Profit Lab brings one decision at a time into a focused tool that shows its work.
What we are building first
The first layer is a collection of free calculators for costing, pricing, break-even analysis, and profitability. Each published tool pairs the answer with its formula, variables, assumptions, limitations, and a worked example.
Saved recipes, dashboards, accounts, and premium workflows are not part of this initial release.
Our standard
Useful beats impressive. A calculator should be understandable, keyboard-accessible, fast on a phone, and honest about what its result can support. Read the methodology or start with the Food Cost Calculator.
What we do not claim
Food Profit Lab does not know a business's books, local market, contracts, or tax position, and it does not present a universal margin as the right answer. The tools provide inspectable educational estimates from user-entered assumptions. They are not a substitute for accounting, tax, legal, or individualized financial advice.
